Questions

How does a consultation work?

Once we’ve connected we’ll set up a date and time for a Zoom, video, or in-person chat to get to know each other. I’ll tell you about my experience as a postpartum doula, the services I offer and ask plenty of questions about what your vision for the postpartum period looks like. I’ll also answer any and all questions you may have for me (so feel free to prep tons!).

When should I start looking for a postpartum doula?

It’s never too early! Once you have an estimated due date from your OB you can start your search! Planning in advance is helpful because it allows you time to prepare yourself, your home, and your family for a journey much longer than the birth itself.

I’ve already had my baby, is it too late to hire a postpartum doula?

Not at all! Postpartum is a long period of time, not just the first six weeks, and guidance in recovery, infant care and emotional support are still super valuable. In our consultation we’ll discuss your needs and how I can best support you.

I already have family and friends in the area, do I really need a postpartum doula?

The choice to have professional support is completely personal, but it’s important to know that as your postpartum doula, I’m not a replacement for your mother, in-laws, best friends, and neighbors, I’m an addition to that support. My services are not just for families with limited villages, my services are for any-and-everyone looking to heal and stay connected into parenthood. Having a robust village of support is a beautiful thing and it excites me to be able to be part of it and help you thoughtfully utilize each person who shows up for you. Asking for help can be hard, even in the closest of relationships. My goal is to give you and your village the tools that make support easy and effortless.
